Please can you help me.

eek:Please can anyone help me, tomorrow I have to go to a disciplinary hearing , I have just had a phone call from my unison rep to say he has injured his foot and as to go to hospital tomorrow :-( Can I postpone the hearing until he can attend ! Really do not want to go into the lions den without him :-(

    Ask your rep to inform the branch office of this development and to have them contact hr and defer the hearing until a mutualy agreeable time.

    In the intrim period, can another rep pick the case up?

    Thank you for the quick reply, He as emailed his boss to see if anyone else can step in, but to be honest I would pref are the one that I have got as he knows all that's been going on and been in the other meeting that I have been to.
    So are you saying the union have to postpone ?

    No, you do - its your hearing.

    Union and HR will have been down this road in the past and union will know who to contact re postponement, but ultimately the request should come from you and the employer is under no obligation to agree (but likely will).

    Ensure any request is traceable. If you have a tel conversation follow it up with a confirmation e-mail and cc in your branch secretary.
