I just wanted to share my happiness for the day.
I have been on and off these boards for about a year saying I would sort myself out but never did........Well today I feel I have made some big steps!
I have 2 credit cards:
Natwest - £2459
Barclaycard - £7100
Today I cancelled my card with Natwest so I am never to spend on it again. The cheeky sods wanted to up the APR on my card from an already high 20% to 24.9%!! So I rung them today and said NO! I look forward to cutting the thing up when I get home.
I have done a snowballing calculator which has worked out my payments for me, how long it will take etc. I have rung Barclaycard and set up a resonable DD with them to pay it off every month that is slightly above the minimum payment on the card so I feel like I am making a proper dent in my balance.
I now just need to wait for Halifax to send me a new online pin then I can get a payment set up for Natwest to pay them off every month too and have a clear balance in as little as a year.
To some people they might be wondering what on earth is this girl happy about?! But to me it is big steps to finally living within my wages and to stop being so scared of money.
The snowballing calculator has worked out that I shall be debt free the month before my 30th Birthday (seems a long way off when you are 26!) but I am now thinking what a brilliant birthday to myself! That thought alone, that I could enter my 30's debt free, is hopefully enough to keep me going and on the straight and narrow.
Wish me luck people! Sorry for rambling on and well done if you have managed to read all this!

Good Luck!!
Do you plan to try and overpay to become debt free sooner? Give you time to save up a few months for a special birthday treat?March 2013 LBM so here goes....PAID OFF £6944! Unfortunately have built it all back up again! Amounts to be added up soon! Scare myself into action! 30/05/2018 LBM 20 -
Yep! Well I am due £300 from a mate for some concert tickets and my parents have just paid back £400 that they owed me so once they both come off my card it will knock off 4 months to my payment plan.
I am also looking into selling my PS3 as I never use it and when I do it's to watch DVDs so might aswell buy a cheap DVD player and make some money which again can come off my card!
Any other suggestions to make some extra money quickly?0
