    Hiya DD

I haven't been on for a few days so have only just seen your thread. Glad to see you seem to be getting your head around things.
My mum lives 500 miles away so she's not likely to see the notice!! Although my gran might, I just can't bare the dissapointment in me that I know would come. :(

Please try not to worry too much on this score. I know when I went BR I was so ashamed of myself (and still am in some ways) but believe me people are much more supportive that you first think. At the end of the day these people love you and naturally want what's best for you. Go and have a chat before it goes in the paper & explain that you feel you have no where to turn, explain how it's affecting you....you'll be surprised by the outcome ;)

...want to give myself the time to get the documents together make sure the forms are all completed properly - they are so complicated and its made worse by the fact I'm in the process of moving jobs so I'm not really sure which job to do the details for!!
Don't worry too much about the forms - if you get stuck on anything, people here will help you. :)

You should do the SOA on the basis of the job you have at the time you go BR. If you haven't yet had a payslip, take a copy of your contract of employment with you to the hearing together with details of your previous employment & explain why you can't yet confirm your new take-home pay. They'll work out what it will be from what's on your contract. :)

    Hey matey,

Just to let you know I've been on to the insolvency helpline today (they re on the net and they re FREE!) and they have advised me about my SOA, what I will be able to put and what will probably be disallowed, anyways if you have a look through my thread here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=457832
You'll see what I originally put down and what they said would/could be disallowed, thought it might help. Bear in mind tho that I'm a single gal so if you live with your partner you will be able to put more for some things like housekeeping etc.

    Hope your ok!

  • Diva - you seem to have made your mind up about going bankrupt but then go on to say you want to buy a house one day - bankrupcy will ruin your credit rating. You need make sure you get expert advice before proceeding -the posters on here (myself included) are not experts. Have you tried the CAB ?

I ave made up my mind - I bankrputcy will destroy my credit rating and make buying a house so much more difficult in the future but at the moment that's so far away I can't even see it! I dont earn enough too I don't have a deposit saved its just not seomthing I can see happening for at least 10 years by then I'm hoping the bankruptcy will be so far in the past that it won't be as much as a problem. I have got indepenant advice too but thank you for your concern :D

I had exactly the same problem with the weather so so annoying currently sat in my office looking at the lovely sunshine feeling rather depressed!

I've had a right old nose at your thread and am just about to post a SOA that is scaryily close to yours as I copied the relevant bits!

I havent booked a date yet, they're booking now for next week - I start at a new job next week and when I get there I'm going to ask if I can have an afternoon off in early July and book it for then. With my court you see your OR straight away so it'll all be sorted in the one day - YIKES!!!

    Hi Claire and DD,

I'm a 28 year old woman and I'm now into my eighth month of bankruptcy after the business I owned went bust last year. I know exactly how you're feeling - I was scared before I went bankrupt but the waiting period is actually much worse than the bankruptcy hearing itself. There are lots of things to consider and a chat with Citizen's Advice (who can help you fill the forms in too) might be a good idea before you finally decide to go ahead with it. I've got a website especially for young women facing insolvency, which includes an account of exactly what happens at the court and has a forum for discussion, but unfortunately I can't give you the address because of the rules about advertising on this forum. Even so, if you need to know anything I'm happy to give you the benefit of my experience (we 'bankrupt babes' need to stick together! :))
Let me know how you both go on! x
