  • Update: from reading about 'Ruthbridge' a bit on the web - their name is mentioned quite a lot when looking into DCAs that typically buy Statute Barred debt.

    Anyone know anything about this..?

is it possibly related to me moving again and checking my credit report? - triggers a response?

Do collections agencies still send this stuff after 6 years?

All the debt buyers do this.
  • Thanks.

I'm anticipating a letter offering a large % reduction if I pay - if so, I can only assume it's 100% SB - isn't that fairly standard practice?

Just don't want to say or do anything stupid to make life hell again!
  • Ignore them for now.

If they start to get nasty, send them the statute barred letter.

The more time between when you thought you last paid/wrote to them and claiming SB the better. As it's more likely to be.

Yeah - Ive heard they like to get nasty.
I do feel pretty confident that its SB. If I asked the relevant 'prove it' questions, would they essentially be proving to me that its SB too?
  • Maybe not. Depends what they send.
