I have an interview for a sales related job tomorrow and have to make a presentation on "any subject".
Has anyone been sasked to do this in the past? What did you talk about? Does it have to be a Powerpoint type thing or can I just talk off script?

Previously given presentations for B2B sales, usually along the lines of 1st 6 months to show I understood route to market, customers and market even if the products were new to me.
Depends on what the industry is as to whether you need a powerpoint, content and delivery is more important than how you present it.
Wouldnt talk off script, better to learn it or use simple, basic prompt cards and, if you do use a powerpoint or similar, dont simply read text from the screen, better to have less words on screen to act as a guide for you and to reinforce the points to the audience.0 -
You would have to give a few more details of the job, what type of sales job is it, and what does the invitation for the job state. Does it say that powerpoint will be available, or that you have to use it.
In general I would always use powerpoint for a presentation, or something visual like prezi just to highlight what i am saying.
Having listened to many a presentation, and given many over the years after much advice I would say that the main thing is to not just read from the slides.
Use the slides to highlight the main points that you are trying to say, visually or in writing as there is nothing worse than listening to a presentation that I could have just read from the screen with no additional information given by the speaker.
Maybe the theme could be on what you have to sell, and how it is important to the market, how you can improve sales of said product, or about yourself and your skills in relation to selling the product.
Give a bit more detail and someone will be able to help more.
