Woolwich Mortgages - Pls post your current experiences

Myself and my girlfriend are currently going through the motions to obtain a 170k loan with 15% deposit. Weve had no issues at all and the process has been smooth sailing. Just a quick question though, how many people with Woolich Mortgages have an a post exchange audit done before completion? Neither of our credit profiles have changed since gaining mortgage approval but its always in the back of our minds that it could potentially fall through and cost us our deposit.

I'm counting down the days until my fixed rate is over andwill run as fast as I can to another lender.
As an update to the post I put before ...
My final count of offer letters was 6, yes 6!! Three arrived before I completed, the final one arrived 2 weeks after I moved in - I still have no idea which is the official one.
I never had any response from my letter of complaint - no surprise, but made a comment on twitter and got a response within 24 hours wanting to help me and 'look into my case'.
I managed to change my address in a barclays branch last September, this was the one they changed during the mortgage application that I didnt ask for, and they failed to change the first two times I requested it, I also received an email questionnaire about my 'recent details change process' last month so you can see how Barclays/Woolwich work when September to May is 'recently'!!
For the person who asked about the Indian call centre, they tempt you in with the promise of 'uk call centre and mortgage handling' and as soon as the initial application is complete (in Cardiff) you get transferred to the "process centre" in India where I found only one person who understood the words 'mortgage' and 'application'.
Altogether the most stressful process I've been through - JUST DON'T DO IT!!!0 -
my interest rate is 0.68% .I cant afford not to stay with woolwich ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

They use Indian call centres...awful...try getting your deeds back from an indian call centre!

We're completing on Friday, it's been straight forward and I have found them to be fantastic. Not a single complaint

Very straight forward so far. I am a Barclays customer and FTB. Met the mortgage advisor this morning and he gave me a mortgage certificate and told me to go and find a house!
Are you credit checked at this stage does anyone know? As an existing customer have I already passed this stage... would be very interested to know!
They do not have the best rates for FTB at the moment in my opinion and in the advisors opinion tbh!!0 -
Nor mine. We've used them once in the last six months, welliesrgreat wrote: »They do not have the best rates for FTB at the moment in my opinionI am a mortgage broker. Approximately 18 months ago I realised my mortgage wouldnt be paid on time so contacted my local branch of Barclays. In the time since i have been in contact with several different departments within Barclays. Eventually on the redemption date in April I made what i thought was a plan to repay the outstanding debt of £34000 over six months, I made a substantial lump sum immediately followed by six monthly payments with a further lump sum in June when my pension matured. I had to supply all details of my earnings & proof of the maturity of my pension. In three months I have managed to pay off £29000 leaving a balance of £5000 to pay over the next three months.
Imagine my shock when I arrive back from holiday to find a letter from woolwich demanding i pay the balance immediately. They had noticed my pension payment had gone into my account. they are now threatening me with repossesion, legal action, seziure of the balance from my account unless i settle now. They also want to send an assessor to inspect the house to check it's condition, a house which a quick internet search will confirm a value of £190000. This is against a debt of £5000 over which they hold first charge. this is the only debt against the property. In the agreement they were informed of the pension money & agreed the six month timescale.
In addition to this the reason the mortgage is outstanding is due to a huge shortfall in two endowments sold to me by Barclays. when I tried to complain I was denied due to the timescale.
I have been a loyal customer of Barclays for around 40 years, I think I've just woken up & can smell the coffee.0
