Sorry,I thought you were called Tia :o embarrassed now, I know it's thanks in advance, but I am quite old and I've had a busy day.

Is your brother not concerned that is she needed this now, what will she 'need' next week, an iPad, a flat screen telly, a Ferrari?

Whn she is 18 she can transfer the contract into her name.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Years ago the debt was on the house, not the person living in it. So if you moved into a house where someone else had lived who had a bad credit record, that would reflect on you too./QUOTE]

Absolute sh1te, don't go posting nonsense on a subject you clearly know nothing about.

Could say the same for you - because up until the last 10/15 years or so it was on the address not the person,

No, it wasn't! This was the RUMOUR that lead people to think that addresses were blacklisted.

    They've never been.
  • Could she not get the phone on PAYG?

yes get him to buy the phone on pay as you go the rest is up to her. he will still get the brownie points for being generous but not being stuck with an expensive contract.
  • Can your brother (or you) type, or even handwrite at a push, a simple contract stating that he has purchased the phone on her behalf and she is paying him back at X amount per week/month. Include the relevant dates, how long it is anticipated she will take to pay off the debt, etc. Have both of them sign it and witnessed and the date it is signed.

So, heaven forbid, if the relationship ends, he has some proof that the phone was bought for her and she is responsible for paying for it.

Love is blind, the poor lad is going to be exploited for as long as he has any money.

That will mean absolutely nothing. She can't get a phone contract because she is under 18. Similarly she cannot enter any contract with the OP's brother.
