Child Maintenance changes

DWP has today updated its reform plans for child maintenance.
Upshot is....
No dates are given for when the new scheme will be opened to all parents or when the case closure process will start. Gov is promising more news later this year.
Upshot is....
- CSA cases with nil liability will be top priority for closure (they reckon circa 50K PWCs who currently get nothing will be entitled to payments in the new scheme).
- Next the 'non compliant' cases with ongoing liability (presumably because these are the priority for enforcement).
- Then compliant, paying cases close -with first priority for the Bolton 'clerical' cases, then ordinary CSA 1 and CSA 2 ones.
- Cases currently paying but only due to enforcement (including DEOs) will close last.
- Proposed surcharge for PWC will be 4% - not 7% as previously suggested.
- New flat-rate liability for benefit cases and low earners will be £7pw - not £10.
No dates are given for when the new scheme will be opened to all parents or when the case closure process will start. Gov is promising more news later this year.

Only that DWP says the transition will take "approximately three years from start to finish". No word on when it will start.

Thank you so much for the info. Only I'm confused. The flat rate liability is currently £5 I thought, not £7?I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.0 -
It's £5 in the CSA schemes. Was going to be £10 in the new one. Now it's going to be £7.0
