My mother is concerned as she has received two letters from SRJ Debt Recoveries demanding £163.67 for a debt with Talk Talk. I closed down her Talk Talk account (she moved home) so I know she doesn't have a debt with them - I presume they didn't close the account when asked and bills have accrued.
What is the best form of action - contact Talk Talk first, or the debt agency, or ignore, or what? Any advice gratefully received

Send them the "prove it" letter https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/26072470

I just called them as they asked, and they confirmed verbally that it was closed, and the direct debit stopped too. But I have nothing in writing (if they did confirm, they probably sent it to the email address attached to the account we just closed down!)
I'll try sending the prove it letter...
Thank you for your help so far0
