Change of Salary Payments

:eek:Can I have your thoughts on the following please?
I was paid monthly a salary with no overtime paid or deductions taken for the very odd drs appt etc.
I asked to be transferred to to weekly pay as my employer keep forgetting to put the monthly paid through and so they were always late.
I have now been transferred to weekly pay and now I am getting deductions for an appointment. I assume now that I would be entitled to overtime?
I was on a monthly contract which stated that a reasonable amount of overtime was expected and would not be paid for.
I have not been issued with a new contract - to be honest my employer has no idea at all about employment law and will probably get annoyed at me for raising the question about deductions and overtime as that is just the type of him.
However I do not want someone coming to me later stating that I wasn't entitled to overtime and have been getting paid it / conning the system or something.
A different Manager now forwards my hours from the Clocking Reports hence the deductions.
I hope this makes sense......................I do work in the worst place in the world for doing things correctly - nobody has a clue and then I'm the worst in the world for raising these things.

Why were they forgetting to pay you?
Why would you get a new contract? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I doubt if there is any need to issue you with a new contract simply for agreeing to a request made by you to change the frequency of payment. I can't see any reason why you should expect to be paid for overtime now when you were happy not to be paid it before. And I think you will struggle to make a case for not having money deducted for appointments taken during working hours, although it's worth questioning it and pointing out that this wasn't done previously (and hopefully that won't cause them to try to claim money back for those previous appointments).0

I think the OP is saying on the monthly payroll they would not get DEDCUTIONS for appointments etc so why are they now they are on weekely pay.I doubt if there is any need to issue you with a new contract simply for agreeing to a request made by you to change the frequency of payment. They just kept forgetting and would put them through late.
So I was meant to be paid on the last day of the month and instead was paid on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th - whenever they had bothered to put them through.
This is why I asked to get moved to weekly as they are paid every thursday without fail.
I assume that I would need a new contract to reflect my new salary arrangments for payments. I.e instead of now getting x amount a year payable monthly on the last day of the month. I am now getting paid weekly every thurs.0 -
I am not expecting overtime.
I always work overtime and up to date have not recieved any deductions for the very odd appointment (this would be once every couple of months).
I am just saying that If I am constantly doing overtime and not getting paid for it then I do not expect deductions to be made.0 -
No it would just be your salary divided by the amount of weeks in the pay yearThey just kept forgetting and would put them through late.

They may give you an amendment to the contact just saying you agree to thisWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I know, hence my suggestion that it could be queried as it wasn't done previously.
Your later post to say it could be that payroll are now simply treating the OP the same way as other weekly paid staff (at least in respect of deductions) might be the answer.0 -
Yes but none of us here know these answers that's why the OP has to ask that question.I know, hence my suggestion that it could be queried as it wasn't done previously.
