I'm not quite sure why you're fixed on getting a Corsa? They are pretty poor cars when you consider where the likes of Skoda and Kia have got to - I would expect you would get alot more for your money and Kia have 7 year warranties I think - only MHO, but I had a Corsa loan car recently and thought it was the most plasticky bit of junk I'd ever driven - there are better small cars out there by far, especially for a whooping £14k!!!!!

Before you go looking on Autotrader or similar get someone else to look at your current car and give you a better estimate of cost of repair. Ask friends/relatives/neighbours for a garage you can trust with reasonable rates.

Agree with this, Skoda Fabia and Citigo are lovely cars, not had a look at the small Kias, but love the Sorrento, an excellent tow car. still would not buy on finance though.

I agree with looking at Kia, me and my husband have both recently changed our cars to new Kia's and found them excellent value.

Had a brand new corsa back in 2002 and it was awful, went back in garage about 10 times before Vauxhall changed the car for another corsa in 2003.

I would look around at new cars and see what deals are out there, Kia do a low finance. I probably wouldn't buy another second hand car as had lots of problems with a second hand Focus and Peugeot.
  • So you have a car worth £3.5k, and it needs £1.5k of work doing to it to make it reliable.

So I don't think it would be sensible to spend £14k to get a reliable car.

After all, this is the Money SAVING website!
