Oyster Card - Rickmansworth

Hi Guys,
I do not live in the area, I live 'oop north', and I need to travel to my office in Ricky next week. I hope to go into London for one of the evenings while I am there..
I have an Oyster Card (PAYG), could I use my card on Chiltern Railways to London Central? And if so, is it the same price as if I am going by tube? As I guess it would be quicker by train (last time it took about an hour on the tube)...
Thanks all..

Yes you can. Metropolitan line to Zone 1 or Chiltern line to Marylebone same price. They have the touch pad exit barriers at Marylebone.Pants0 -
Thanks for the quick response.
May need to use the card as a day travelcard as I will want to go on to Leicester Square from Marylebone and then tube/train back againIf the world is a stage... I want better lighting!0 -
No problem.
It will 'cap' at slightly less than the cost of buying a travelcard for the day.0 -

Done it many times. If you're using it in the evening only then I think it's about £12 for the travelcard use.
Even though Chiltern into London is quicker, if you miss one then it's 30 minutes until the next one, so make sure you know when they leave.Pants0 -

57 minutes by tube to Leicester Square and 50 minutes using Chiltern to Marylebone0 -
