That is rubbish and only works if everything else is equalised.

    What are you on about?

We had our bathroom redone before winter. Asked 4 plumbers to come around for a quote. 3 UK guys, 1 Slovak.
One didn't even bother showing up.
The other 3 provided similar quotes, we decided to go with the Slovak one as he could deliver in 10 days where the others had timeframes of between 2 and 3 weeks in mind.
Extremely happy with the work he's done too. I'd happily recommend him.

    Anecdotal, I know.

UK tradesmen are not undercut in price, they are undercut in quality, customer focus and work ethic.

And why would you not be able to do this if we left the EU?

    Please explain.

Because the party that would take the UK out of the EU would also stop most immigration or at least seek to.

As far as I can make out the only reason that the anti-EU movement has gained any traction is immigration (most are not bothered about the rest), so presumably he wouldn't have the option of his Slovak plumber, or have I missed your point?

Such things as house prices, benefit levels etc.
Many Eastern Europeans will work in the UK but send much odf their earnings back home. This is not good for the UK economy.
paying UK benefits to children living in Romania (at UK levels) is just daft.

    A presumption.

Do you know or work with Eastern Europeans to make this assumption? As I've stated before I have worked with, employed and actually lived next to Eastern Europeans. The vast majority of them are not going anywhere as they have children in UK schools or/and have a partner who is not Eastern European.

That is the UK government's fault not the fault of immigrants.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Don't think anybody is blaming the immigrants.

You are blaming them for house price increases when outside London houses prices aren't increasing. Plus the immigrants who are buying houses tend to be very rich immigrants who come from all over the world and a lot don't pay tax here.

Many poorer immigrants have caused rental prices to increase. (Not because they want to, jut due to supply and demand). Quite a lot in London suburbs.
