If I started a new job do you think they would allow the following time off?

I failed my GCSE Maths and have been resitting, the final exams are next month, which means I'll need 2 days off. There's a possibility I'll get accepted for a job within the next fortnight.
Also, it's my sister's wedding in a few months and I'm giving her away, would they allow that? It would be one day off.

Do you need GCSE maths to take up the new job? I would hope that any employer would be happy to allow you time off for this reason.
And I think that few employers would begrudge you one day for a major family event such as your sister's wedding, unless it is a particularly busy time of year. If you explain at interview/before taking up post that these two personal appointments are pre booked, I think that few employers would object. The main skill is in knowing at what point in the recruitment process to tell them. Sometimes employers make it easy, by asking about pre-booked holidays

All you can do is ask them. I wouldn't imagine 3 days off to be terribly difficult; but it could depend on which 3 days, and the type of business of your potential employer.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0

It involves admin and he asked me in passing about my knowledge of Office, i.e would I be able to produce a graph in Excel. I think it is important.

Thanks both

In that case, tell them that in order to develop your skills, way before you did the interview, you worked really hard at your maths and are now able to (re?)take your GCSE. Tell them you did the course to ensure your skills were shiny bright for any potential employer, but you'd really like to take the formal exam as well!
