Can I cook pasta in a microwave?

I'm kitchenless for 8 weeks from monday - all I have to cook is a microwave. I'm panicking now because I'm thinking of meals that can go ping and the staple in our house, especially for the kids, is pasta. I have put the freezer in the basement so I can store sauces but does anyone know a clever way to cook pasta in the microwave, or if I can cook it and freeze it without it turning into a sticky lump?

Thanks

I always cook my pasta in the microwave -all i do is put it in a bowl add boiling kettle water and put it in for between 7-10mins depending on how much pasta i have too cook.

I've never had any problems doing it this way and it frees up space on the hob for sauces :D

Thanks so much, that's exactly what I hoped to hear! I cook rice that way but didn't know if pasta would work.

Off to make monster batches of bolognese now!

Yes, absolutely agree with Jessii - I never hob boil pasta any more, always microwave it. Rice too - comes out perfect!

If you use boiling water, you can also take it out of the microwave before it's fully cooked and just let it finish in the hot water.
