this is specifically regarding wedding dresses, a lot of these comps say that they are non-transferable but as the mother-of-the-bride (who would normally be paying for the dress anyway) can I enter & give it to my daughter as I'm not selling it or anything ?

Hi,I'd guess it all rests with the promotor & will vary for each one.The only certain ways to find it out is either email & ask, prior to entry,or win & negotiate.0

Can't you just enter in your daughter's name?
I entered a Festival Comp in my son's name as he really wanted to go and when he won it made things so much simpler.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

All non-transferable means it that has to be sent to your name and address, but after that you can do with it what you like - after all, how would they ever know
Although if part of the requirements of the prize is that she needs to go in to the shop and get herself measured for the dress and whatnot, you are better off getting her to enter it herself.0 -
Until recently as the impending nuptuals are 2 weeks away, I was entering for wedding things, using all sisters details but my email address (as she never reads hers!)
Not sure how they could prove you had entered in somebody elses name unless maybe you did multiple entries? I never won a thing for her though apart from a hen night game on Twitter which I entered in own name.
The only wedding related thing I did win, was won in my own name which was a made to measure suit, which after almost 2 hours of measuring (he's 6'6" and built like a twig), came back after 2 months, too short, too tight, and with a jacket so small he couldn't get the buttons to meet to do it up :rotfl:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
