Callcredit - "conflicting information"?

Hi fellow MSErs,
Following Martin's prog on Friday night, I signed up to Noddle.
I've been self-employed for the last 3 years, & have made no new applications (i.e. credit cards, mortgage, loans) over that period, but simply retained what I had when I became self-employed.
I can see that necessary credit searches have taken place for car & home insurance in the last 3 years, so I expected my credit score to different to the last time I checked with Equifax (early 2010), when it was extremely high.
So with Noddle, I get a 5/5 credit rating, but a credit score of 608, which depending on conflicting web info on Noddle's range is either 1000 or 1500 (different to Experian & Equifax) means that my score isn't as good as I thought it might be.
So, is my score simply down to a Noddle anomaly, or could it be also down to the fact that I have made no new major applications for credit over the last few years?
[Additional info - been in current property for 7 years; no missed payments for anything during that time or before; on electoral roll; in my early 40's; no overdrafts; no CCJs; waist size is 32 (!)...anything else essential I've missed from this list?!]
All thoughts welcome...
Cheers!

Credit scores are meaningless - it's the information contained in your reports you need to consider. What will your verse be?
