Hi, has anyone used a Pilates machine? If you have what did you think of it?
I am considering buying one as I would like to lose a few pounds, am not overweight but am more than I would like. My main aim is to tone up and get a bit of muscle definition.
thanks

I have never used a machine but I have been to a class. It is very good for toning up and muscle definition. I certainly noticed a difference in how I stood and moved.
You will ache in places and ways you didn't know you had
and like anything new, the second day is worse! Personally I wouldn't do the plank until you have been doing pilates for a few months if I were you.

I've never heard of a pilates machine and have family in the fitness industry!
Would be far better going to class as Linda says above. It's a great way to tone up overall.
PS Linda - I can hold currently a 3 minute straight plank

Bought the Pilates Reformer from TV sales. Wouldn't waste your money. Too fiddly and never know if you have adjusted the straps/ ropes correctly. Better to go to a class. HTH's0
