bank account

Just a quickie but hoping to go br after i have been paid but before rent and other essential payments need to be made via dd. Should i clear my bank account of all monies on the off chance the account is frozen so i can still make payments via alternative method. or are they unlikely to freeze an account if essential dd are coming out of it? depending on court date it could be anything from day before payments due upto 4 days before payments due.

Thanks in advance
:T Looking forward to the future :T

Most bank accounts are frozen and then closed following BR, the exceptions are the Co-operative cashminder account and Barclays basic. If you have one of those two accounts, no need to remove money, they should continue to run as normal. If you don't have one of those two accounts, open one before you go BR and get all your income and DD's set up before hand.

Hi and thanks to you both

I've got co-op cashminder. So should be alright then to leave it in there. When filling in the form do i need to put down what i have in that bank account (wages only) or do I leave it off? or only put in what i have from other accounts which amounts to a couple of quid.

You need to write down exactly what is in there on the form as at the day of your BR.

Personally I would (and did!) take the money out of the bank and then put it back in a day or two after BR once you are certain the account is fine.
