Help being forced onto direct debit

Anyone know if the CSA can make me goto direct debit....I been paying for years via standing order..they say I was in arrears I pointed out I wasn't and paid on time all the time...and where this arrears was...after talking to another person he said I wasn't in arrears which I knew and said everyone is being put on DD who are on standing order..now they keep ringing asking for bank details I not answered the phone and now have a letter to say give them the DD details within 7 days or they do enforcement action ...I think its a bloody cheek..why don't they go to people who don't pay..any thoughts people ..as I don't want a DEO..i really feel its unfair I am being made to go onto DD so I lose control on payments..

Stick to your guns and stay with the SO.

I reckon it bully tactics...let's see if they do commence enforcement action.

That is so unfair when you have a history of good payment. They insisted we pay like that but it was a newer case( & had been paying the pwc direct previously) they wouldn't have it any other way than DD.

DD is preferable because they can take what THEY like, but it is not legislation, make a formal complaint, and copy in your MP that this is now bordering on harassment, and as there is NO debt, you will expect that they cease from this course of action or you will take legal action.

Stick to your gins, and if they try to impose a DEO on your employer, then seek an injunction immediately...! They must have good cause to do this, and will have to prove to the court that there is such cause, if there are really no arrears then they will fail...!
  • Another option is to get a one of those pre pay debit cards and give them the number for that that way you still keep control and use it only for CSA the only money in that account is what you put on it.

And alot dont charge a fee if there’s insufficient funds in the account.

Im afraid its the same old story people moan when they are getting a fiver a week, and would still moan when they are getting £55 a week lol.

If the money they take doesn't match your schedule then can't you contact your bank in accordance with the direct debit guarantee?

I was calling up paying monthly by debit card (ten months to go). They told me that this is not a preferred method and I need to change to DD or DEO.Never been in arrears paid for nineteen years and still they insist I change.
Last time I trusted CSA with DD they took two payments straight away out of one months pay.I pleaded my case still was told DD or DEO.Reluctantly went DEO as that way I won't be paying twice in a month and god knows what they'll get upto when case ends next January.
Took onboard advise above ,will write to my MP again as surely CSA could be doing something other than harass payers.

Why? Please stick with the SO. They cannot start enforcement action because you are up to date with your payments.

    Take kevin's advice.
