Mackenzie Hall default

I checked my credit file recently and found a default registered by Mackenzie Hall for a loan from Quick Quid. As far as I was aware the loan was paid; I had no contact from Quick Quid to tell me otherwise and thought it had come straight out of my bank.

I receieved a letter from MH who told me I owed the money, which I paid immediately.

Am I right in saying that I could not have defaulted with MH as I actually never borrowed money from them so they should not have added a default notice?

Huh? That doesn't make much sense.....
Quick Quid own the debt, but have never registered anything. MH have no right to register anything ever do they?

Usually it would be the original creditor who registers a default and then sells it onto a debt collection agency, but the default is sometimes then changed into the DCA's name.

In your case, QuickQuid would have more than likely registered the default, but when Mackenzie Hall bought the debt, the default would have been changed into their name.
