Dump anything that belongs to him at his house/in his garden and make it clear you want no further contact. You daughter might have to say goodbye to the iPod, but it'll be worth it to be rid of him.0

You can block a number but I think it only stops phone calls getting through, not texts.
You're correct. DD blocked his number but continued to receive texts. She then changed her SIM, got a new one from the original provider and when she activated it realised it was the old number. We waited with baited breath while the number was changed, but before it did he realised, and it was non-stop texts, calls, threats, pleading etc, etc until it changed.
I refuse to change my mobile!!!! He doesn't have the number, but his sister does, and when he borrows her phone to 'text a couple of friends' he messages, and I've spoken to him once as I answered my phone as I didn't recognise the number.
EDIT: and he went off on one at me. He appears so delusional it's unbelievable, and I do worry for DD's safety.0 -

I think that too. But am having moments of 'why the hell should he get it all his way!!!' The latest was that one of the games he borrowed off someone, so that person will come to take up the matter. Scuse me, I'm not prone to swearing, but !!!!!!?
EDIT: oh, and the police said go and meet him to get the ipod, take someone with you0 -
Seriously, if you're worried about the daughter's safety, and you're telling us he's delusional and he's made serious threats...why the heck do you care about an ipod??!0

when he realises he's getting no response from people he'll stop his tantrums. don't take calls from him (or the sister). I know it's a pain and why should you have to change your mobile, but the thing is, he's now got your phone number which unfortunately makes you a good candidate for him to annoy.0

why? because one side of this battle needs to be the sensible one, the one who says just give him no tangible excuse to keep in contact, so give him his stuff back and draw a line.0 -
Take his stuff.
Dump his stuff at his sisters
Forget the ipod - seriously you're worried about your daughter's safety and then are thinking about chasing him for an ipod?!
Make a proper complaint to the police and insist they follow it up.
If he contacts - ignore.
If he calls, hang up and turn off your phone
Rinse and repeat.
it's not hard. If your daughter has moved on, there is really no need for anyone else to be making a drama out of it."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
'Talking' to people removed from the emotional situation that this is has helped a great deal
thank you
I have decided I will be dropping DD's ex bf's stuff outside where he lives over the weekend, and will then text his sister to say it's there. What happens after that point is no concern of mine. We will forget about the ipod, it's just a 'thing' anyway.
Will ignore/delete any further attempts at contact from him or his family. If he makes any further contact or threats will insist the police go out to him.
Thanks for helping me to clear my head
