Thanks Donut & Artytarty,
edit: fab link, Arty, I may have found a craft that I can do! (put the link on the toughy thread but credited you with it.)
Carlamarie, yes it is a lovely feeling, it can't be forced, I've learned that over the years, so I'm pleasantly surprised to have it, and enjoying it!0 -
Such a lovely family memory Carla
and did the boxers fit you? Hehe
Thanks arty! I was wondering if that would be the best way to do itI might stick the last few pages properly just to give it a but more stability

Donutchops, a quick google tells me you only need to paste glue over the outside edges of the pages and then around the inside of the hole where you have cut them out in the he middle.
I might give this a go myself.
Yesterday I made two folded book sculpture things from paperbacks, they look quite effective!like this
Never seen anything like those before! I think probably too advanced for my limited crafting experience lol. What will you be using yours for or are they purely decorative?
I have found that with the books I'm giving you can get some great titles to make them more personal. I picked up 'someone special' for my daughter in law, and a book called 'smoked' for my son, as he is a smoker lol.0 -

I think this site recommends reserving he first few pages to glue down at the end.
The folded books are so simple, just a bit tedious. I used an iron to help flatten the pages and then a few puffs of it at the end to get the whole thing to sit more evenly spread out. I think they are purely ornamental, they look good fouled together. I reckon they will be real dust catchers though, then I'll just chuck them out! Some people hang them like a pendant but that's too much of a faff for me.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Maybe some small books made into tree decorations is the way to go lol0

Yes! that would be nice! as long as not too heavy.
I used to be an origami freak in my youth. This is a very very simple version of that I guess.
I'm going to make fudge too, but I have not got a fail safe crumbly fudge recipe yet. There are so many on the net I just don't know which to go with.
I like fudge quite dry and still soft, neither rock hard nor creamy smooth.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -

Try this.
I think double sided tape is effective but would avoid hot glue  kitkats seem to be a popular choice for the base, but other than candy canes I guess you can use whatever's on offer that is the right size. A touch of ribbon or very fine tinsel would finish them off nicely.Bossymoo

Thankyou... I was going to use glue dots. They cost pennies on ebay
