My OH and I currently rent our property from the local authority.
Does anyone know if these can be rebanded using Martins method?
Problem is, I don't know what band we are currently in, but I do know how much we are paying ("too much" is the familiar cry!)

rmg You can ask for a review of your council tax if you think it's wrong if you are the person(s) paying the tax. Local authority or private dwellings have the same rights.
Your council tax statement for 2007/2008 will tell you which band you're in.

Or go to https://www.voa.gov.uk and you can look up your address and tax banding.

Also look at the posts on 'council tax discussion' thread where there's loads of good information and expert advice. If you are going to challenge the banding you will have to have plenty of evidence like 1991 house sale prices.
First of all check what your neighbours band is and compare.

    Thanks Maisie

Only snag is the entire estate is local authority properties. They've never been sold and I don't know how they worked the prices out in the first place.
