Home rower recommendations?

Hi All

As the title sugests I'm in the market for a home rowing machine. I am looking at no more than £300.00 but preferably less.

I am "watching" 2 Concept 2's, an Horizon Oxord 11 cs and a WaterRower on e-bay but I am not really expecting them to stay below my budget.

Sorry for the ramble, here is my question. There are some nearly new rowers on e-bay that are Air, Magnectic or Mag-Air combinations within my budget but are from the likes of York, V-fit and Tunturi. Has anyone had any experience of the cheaper Brands. Good or Bad? Any recommendations of these brands or any other brands?

Thanks in advance.

  • For a useful home rower there are really only two brands you want to consider, Concept 2 and WaterRower. These are well constructed and give a good approximation of the rowing action. Unless you are actually a rower and looking to train at home I'd choose the WaterRower. Both do come up on second hand sites, and it would be worth contacting the UK distributors about ex-demo or post competition models.

I agree with Bowsider5 - we have a Concept 2 which we bought 2nd hand from the Concept site ( I think).
