Thank you so much for all your suggesstions.
I amalgamated the ideas, got them to work out a budget for a flat, costed up a simple meal - what it would be in restaurant/pub/make yourself, and then cost up making a batch of muffins.
Muffins was really interesting - difference between the highest/lowest cost of ingredients. How much that would be per muffin, compared to how much a bought one would be.
We also covered key words - interest/inflation and their impact. Why save? Why have a pension? How a mortgage works. All sorts of stuff.
It went very well, they were interested, engaged, and hopefully will retain some it!!0 -
I have debated mentioning relationships.
I wish people had talked about what it means to be a good partner and what you should expect back. Choosing a partner is an important step in life and can dramatically affect lives.
We see negative relationships in the news all the time. I think people need to know that control and power should not be tolerated from either side. Being the 3rd member of a relationship is negative and so on.
Some times relationships should be analysed by the brain rather than the heart.
Being a good friend is also important. With good friends around us, life seems more bearable.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0
