Hi Moneymaker, just noticed your latest SOA includes the cinema cards, but you said you'd cancelled them?
Plus, check the main site for the article on payment/mortgage insurance and you might want to look into cancelling the one you have or at least getting something cheaper. So often the small print lets the insurer off paying for anything that might realistically happen to you.
Will you continue to pay for childcare while you are on maternity leave?
Get ready to batter down the mobile bills for next month - check out the mobile phone board on this site for good tactics.
Also, do you definitely need two cars? If you do, start thinking hard about all those little unnecessary journeys - up the road to get a pint of milk etc. You could save a bit on petrol this way while you are on mat. leave. You might also be able to car pool for baby and childcare trips.
Last but not least, well done on all the ebaying - you'll probably find more things around your home that you don't actually want any more, so they can go the same way.

Hiya Tustastic,
Yeah we need 2 cars unfortunatly. We tried to live with just 1 and it didn't work. The childcare costs are in there for when I start back at work which will be the beginning of October. but have included it now cause my wages will fall by that anyway in the next 3months.
Considering cancelling the mortgage protection for the time being. If me or my hubbie is off we get good sick pay and with the jobs we do Finance and catering we could easily walk into an agency should we be made redundant.
Plus we have life insurance if anything happens to either of us.
I'm car booting and ms ing tomorrow so that should bring in a bit more money.
I think whats annoying me most is that my hubbie still doesn't seems bothered even though he can see how much it is upsetting me being in this debt. I've got my barclaycard to under £1000 this month though so i'm happy with that plus with it being a flexirate it means i'll pay less interest next month on any of the purchases I have made.
Will give hubbie kick up the bum to call dfs today to sort out the contract over 3 years which it should be rather than 6 months and then I'll start chipping away at that now to get that cleared as soon as possible.
Oh and yes i'tt be starting to walk more anyway with the little ones cause i'll want to lose the weight after she's born so hopefully i will save on petrol. Plus it'll be summer holidays so no long trips up to school 5 days a week. Plus when she my 5 year old does go back in sept the weather should be nice for us all to walk anyway.
Will apply for maternity grant after shes born as they won't give it us now cause we earn too much, we have already brought all the stuff but £500 would look nice off that debt balance.
Still don't feel very positive at the moment though.0 -
Have checked the payment protection for our mortgage and it only covers hubby for disability. This is £22.16 PER MONTH!!!!!
Have just read the terms and conditions and it says that we can cancel at any time by just cancelling our direct debit so I'm going to do this in a moment.
Me and hubby have had our first money arguement tonight (not bad saying this is our 7th year together).
He's hurt that I think he's not trying to help clear the debt (Bit difficult to think otherwise when he keeps saying he wants to buy a new car next year!!
i know he's doing the overtime to earn the money but I just want some back up support to help use this money constructivley.
Getting very stressed. (Not good when nearly ready to drop the baby)
Luckily have another ms tomorrow (for a pub with meals included) and we are doing car boot cause weather has been so nice today.
I'm losing hope very quickly with him and if he does anything stupid in regards to our finances I think the way i'm feeling at the minute would resort in me leaving him.... I don't want to get to 10 years time when our kids are 10 and 5 and we have nothing to show for the time that we have had. He also likes the idea of having a 3rd child when daughter is 3 so really need focus on clearing this debt.
Sorry i'm rambling now (hormones and tears in eyes I think)
I'll update on the car boot tomorrow evening I think cause it's a busy day tomorrow.

Hiya all,
Wow it's been a busy day.
Went down to the car boot and it was shut so had to relocate to another (waste of petrol...rahhhh!!!) On the positive side it only cost £6.00 to get in not the £14 the other place charged but we only made £52 when I know at the other one it would nearly have all sold. Hubby said he will go down to that one next week and should only cost £8 cause we will have the car not the van cause we won't have so much stuff.
Gonna re-advertise my wedding and bridesmaid dresses on ebay later and sort out a few more bits for the car boot.
All together I have £430 to put into my bank tomorrow. Cannot decide whether to pay this off the barclaycard or the sofa. Not sure if we can make over payments.....Plus I have that £55 Northern rock cheque as well to go in. This would either leave £505.70 on the barclaycard or £1169 on the black horse. I do like the look of the black horse one. It feels that I have achieved something big this month.
It'll take our joint debt down to £74,870 clearing a whopping £1325.71 worth of debt so far in less than a month. Thinking may get a little disheatened when it starts to slow down cause I have nothing left to sell......

Water company have also advised that due to us being in credit all the time, if when our next bill comes out that is massively in credit too they'll give us that money back and reduce our monthly payplan as well (on water meter)
Also have put that £485 in bank. Need to wait till Thursday till the cheque has cleared and can then pay off the barclaycard leaving that at £505.70 and I also re-advertised my bridesmaid and wedding dree. Will check these both in a minute on ebay. I also have a high cash ms to do next week so that should be beneficial. Yay!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Yay, cheques have cleared quick!!! Have paid off Barclaycard down to £505.01 this has also left my bank account at £0 so I should now be able to close everything down. Except the personal loan for £29,776.
My target till the end of June is to clear off the barclaycard entirely. On another thread I did say by the time I went on maternity leave which is the 22nd June, but I don't get paid till the 25th and hubby doesn't get paid till 28th so I have now changed the date to the end of June.
After this my target is black horse. However I have applied for an mbna 0% creditcard for 13 months which also gives 0% on creditcard cheques so I need to give them a call today to see if I can have enough to clear it and If I can I pay it off as soon as the barclaycard is clear so that I can start paying it off sooner than February.
Hope everyone else is well. L

Hiya,
Yes I am signed up with Quidco and pigsback. But have not really looked too far in depth with them both.
I have also just applied for AQA and I am doing a few ms jobs.
I did a retaileyes job on Sunday and submitted the same day but cannot sign up for more till they have evaluated this. Not sure how long this takes though.
