Credit report help..... Debt free here I come

Options
So I have my credit report with equifax and experian on the way.. I now need some help please??

I have a score of 136 which I think is absolutely horrendous....

I have a few 11 in total defaults and 2 CCJ's

There is a start date, date updated, and default date

Which is the date which that it takes 6 years to go off? The other ones I am going to try and pay off, none of them are extremely high... Most is £800!!!

Thanks for the help, I feel so helpless and a total idiot

The score of 136 will improve after satisfying defaults but it's not worth paying to receive the score in future as it is a totally incomplete picture.

I think it's because I am niave and no idea what I am doing... However after reading your posts I am going to cancel it now, I want my Experian one just to see what defaults I have, if they are nearly 6 years since default date what would your advice be?

    Thanks

Definitely check your statutory reports (costing £2) with Experian and Equifax fairly regularly (I do it twice a year) but no need to pay for the score :)

Have you made any payments to the debts since the default dates?
Creditors have up to 6 years from the date of the last payment to take you to court, and if they did obtain a CCJ against you this would then be on your credit file for a further 6 years.

The CCJs that you have will be on your file for 6 years from the judgement date.

Are you currently paying anything towards your debts? Are you currently being chased for payments?
Are you in a position to start repaying or to offer reduced full & final settlements on the debt?
