Feels like we'll never complete

12 weeks into the house buying process and still no contract to sign. Enquiries been going back and forth between our solicitor and sellers solicitor for 4 weeks now. Also had major problems with our solicitor. Beginning to get impatient now and losing all faith that we're ever going to complete :(

Sorry no advice but I do really feel for you. My offer was accepted on the 23rd of Jan and still no discussions about a possible exchange date. I'm giving it until after the bank holiday weekend and after that I'll begin viewing again.

Have you signed a contract? Have you been told what the hold up is?

No not signed the contract but I've got everything in place and could in theory exchange and complete tomorrow.

It appears the vendors have had loads of problems downsizing the mortgage. There's now 3 of us in the chain so fingers crossed means we will move quickly now.

Hi pinkdora I am in the same position as u and a beginning to wish we had never started. We are in to week 12 now too , I thought we would have at least exchanged by now but heard nothing . Keep pestering estate agent and solicitor but beginning to think we are the only ones who want to move. I am constantly fretting about what might go wrong. I feel your pain

    Yes it really is frustrating!

I am completing on my sale next week. I still haven't exchanged on the house I want to buy, but keep getting told (by all parties) that we will complete next week. At the moment we are (still) waiting for the redemption statement from the mortgage company, that is the hold up!

We are now in week 18.. I am sure I have aged 20 years in those last weeks!
