Hey Boss, congrats on what you've done so far - sounds very organised
Just an observation - is £80 a week not a bit expensive for 2? We get away with about £150 a month for 2 of us - cooking most stuff from scratch. That's an extra chunk that could be used for overpayments perhaps?Outstanding Debt as of Sept 13 - NONE!

Agree with Hallsy here.. we spend a lot on groceries and alcohol (could be a lot less I know folks) but even then its £500 a month for 5 of us....3 adults, 1 teenager and a 10 yo.
Think you can make more savings and yes, always cook from scratch. if you need inspiration try The Girl named Jack blog...MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

The rule is that anything left over from the £160 budgeted for groceries and the £230 for myself goes onto repaying a card.
Seems to me that budgeting the £80 a week is sensible as you feel like you have a little bit of freedom to stock up when bargains are around but hopefully ^ ^ ^ ^ will happen and you get that great sense of achievement each week when you don't spend it all and can fling it at a card.
Interesting idea. might have a think about altering our monthly food budget to a weekly one ......MFW2020 #5 £2,000/2,000 MFW2021 #5 £1,850/3,500MFW2022 #5 £3.001/3,000Sep'12 £233,750 Jan'15 £222,329 Dec’21 £139,584 MFiT T4 #24 £48k/£34k MFiT T5 #24 £22,186/£41k MFiT T6 #24 £4,700/£29k0 -
Just done a freezer stock check so I can see what we have. All added to my spreadsheet under a different tab. We have a total of 24 'main' parts of a meal for two, meaning all we need to add are veg and potato type things.
Bulk of weekday meals therefore covered for the next few weeks along with one weekend. Will still need to top up on the usual fresh stuff and things for the weekend, but it's looking like June will be a low spend month as far as groceries go.
Whoa, what a good idea Boss! I may do the same. Or get the bf to do it for me, just need to lavish him with praise first on how well he did it last time. He's really excellently organised! I like the "main meal parts" idea!! Then that's something to work around..
You have 24 - that's June weekdays covered? Then a couple of Sunday lunches out and a couple of roasts and you're still within budget?
