Until we're freeeee! I just phoned "the office" to find out why my IPA payment hasn't been taken yet, only to be met with a rather curt unhelpful answer. Anyway I asked if they could check to see how many payments were left, as I had conflicting paperwork so wanted to be sure, and was told after the one that's lingering in my bank account has been taken there's only 1 payment left!!:T Also I can pay it early if I choose so instead of waiting until mid June it will be paid on Monday!
We were declared BR 3 years 2 months ago and the end is within touching distance! It's most definitely had its' ups and downs but it was very much something we needed to do. My husband and I got our relationship and family life back and actually have been truly happy despite the bumps along the way. Our attitude to money has done a complete 180 and for the first time we actually live within our means (with the exception of cars blowing up, council tax !!!! ups and evil landlords) and think about what we spend our money on.
The plan now is to repay the above "surprises" which should be done by August, and then start saving for a 30% house deposit and commence the dreaded credit file cleanup.
Without the information and support of this site from the beginning we would not be where we are now so from the bottom of my heart, thank you! For all those about to start the journey, good luck! It is nowhere as scary as you think it will be, you WILL find ways around the unexpected surprises, you WILL become more resourceful and mindful of spending and most importantly you WILL get your life back and be happy once more
