Can any recruiters shead light on this?
I just don't what to make of this, a previous company with a possible job offer that was pulled (erm due to the position being filled internally apparently) had been back in touch this week by email, hopes up again although somewhat shocked, all rested on having a telephone interview again and could I let them know when I'm available, aaarrgghh should have known not to be so silly after I replied to their email within an hour on that day nothing more heard, today I receive email totally changing the boundaries with "we have lots of jobs available and you just need to print off and complete our application form plus assesment questions and in the next few weeks *you could* be invited to assessment days! no date mentioned (and all this for temporary and without job title positions!)
Question - Do companies work on an email mail merge as it were? is that the problem here
All the emails that come through have been personally addressed to me but then there is never any reply back
I don't know how to respond to today's email considering their re-approach yet again so just put received and thanked them for it, I've come to the thinking perhaps there jobcentre benefit claimant checkers??
I tried phoning before that didn't get me far I don't know how to find out how serious they are, although I've now got other applications on the burner as it were so don't want to turn other interviews/offers/assesments down to be messed about as I'm really concerned with this companies conduct - the jobcentre have said they think their starting up a recruitment agency but this hasn't been mentioned or made clear by the company concerned as yet

Have you looked at the email address it's coming from?
They may well send out test emails, I dunno, but I can't see them spoofing an email address0 -
Id forget about it, you've been messed around 34 times now, ok maybe not messed around but your hopes were raised a few times.0

Strangely enough I had an email just before 12pm today from a recruitment agency if I was still interested in a particular position, and when I would be available to do a telephone interview. I replied almost immediately that I am free now, and I haven't heard anything from them, no call no email.
I just though I would call them tomorrow to double check, just a bit strange that you had a similar experience. Might be nothing, the person might just have been busy or forgot0 -
I would get on the phone and start talking to people rather than e-mailing back and forth in these situations.
I would call, explain what has happened so far and ask them to clarify which role is available that they are asking you to apply for.0
