how stupid can some companies be

i was reading a thread by rach earlier on and noticed she was being hounded for a d'agostin mag by ccs ..it got me to thinking about all the stupid times i've been chased i think out off all the bad ones (and there have been a few) the worst was when i got sent a council tax reminder to pay in 7 days or were taking it further kind snet by first class stamp for the pricely sum of 27p it cost more to send the letter ..was wondering if anyone else had similar stories?

I've had companies send me a statement saying I owe £0.00, and that the bill must be settled by such & such a date. Once as a joke I designed a cheque in Paint that looked like it had been done by a 5-year old & sent it to them for the amount of £0.00 with a covering letter saying it was in full settlement of my account, & the blighters just sent it back saying they couldn't accept it as it wasn't from a recognised bank! These things are sent out automatically, & no-one's yet devised a computer with common sense.

I have had a DCA letter threatening legal action Addressed to Dear Resident, would lovel to see that go to court!!
