Have a look in Lidls, (look at their online brochure for offers). Last week I got their own brand RED for £3.19 I think as it was on offer, and tasted okay.

Sainsbury's have 3 for £10 at the moment. Bargain Booze also have £10 bottles selling for £4 - £5 each.

As mentioned by a few here, Aldi and Lidl. Check Supermarket Own Brand Guide, scored from 0 - 10, 10 being the best apparently.

    For wine offers try:

    Wines Direct

    Quaffers Offers

Believe it or not, you may also get some good deals in B&M Bargains as well if you have any stores near you, they were selling Echo Falls white and red wine for £3.99 a few days ago, not sure if nationwide.

Try searching the following as well.

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/deals/new

http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/ (you can change store to see where is cheapest for wine or lager, see left of page. Click where it says sort by Relevance if it helps, then click Price Per Unit (Low to High))

I believe Pinot Grigio is currently very popular in the UK and Prosecco, Prosecco appeals to Pinot Grigio drinkers apparently though is a sparkeling wine, both are very popular with the ladies apparently. Pinot Grigio starts from £3.99 at Tesco (Architetto Pinot Grigio if in stock) and £4 at ASDA. And as for red wine, maybe Cono Sur Pinot Noir, very popular at weddings. ASDA currently sell Cono Sur Pinot Noir Central Valley for £5 reduced from £7.48. Wolf Blass Vineyards Release Shiraz and Wolf Blass Vineyards Release Chardonnay are also currently £5 at ASDA, very good brand apparently, good price too.

If you want to be a bit more classy with regards to sparkeling wine then go for vinho verde, Sainsbury's do a very good one apparently, currently £4.59. Unlike Prosecco Vinho Verde is a lot less fizzy by the way, some are slighty sparkelling, some can appear as if they are still. And probably not as good as what you'd get in Portugal though I read recently Sainsbury's appears to be one of the best sold in UK supermarkets. Vinho verde appears to be low in alcohol as well, approximate 10%, Sainsbury's is only 9%. There are many other brands as well though it's pity you can't get Castle Garcia in the UK, the best of the best.

Incidentally, while we are on the subject of Portuguese alcohol, B&M Bargains were selling 330ml bottles of Sagres lager for 59p each a couple of months back, and Super Bock is currently £4.99 for 4 at Tesco though were selling for as little as 88p for 4 last year , a clearance deal apparently. OK Tesco's current offer is nowhere as cheap as the Sagres deal at B&M though is a very good lager. Definitely worth adding this to my Price Alerts on mySupermarket .

And should be some vouchers knocking around as well. There's a Voucher Codes tab on Wines Direct, there may actually be better ones on HotUKDeals and MSE's voucher board as well. And don't forget cashback.

Incidentally, the Vinho Verde I was recently reading about wasn't Sainsbury's which was voted the best it was Quinta de Azevedo which is sold in Waitrose, currently £7.49 though can also be found at Majestic Wine for £5.99 and £5.83 at Ocado. Sainsbury's was however voted second best, and that appeared to be the Mateus Rose.

You could also try Tagus Creek Chardonnay & Fernao Pires, a blend of international varieties, currently £4.50 at ASDA, it's not a bad little wine apparently.

mysupermarket was showing 20 packs of Carling, Fosters and Strongbow at 2 for £22 last night. It is not there tonight but Sainsburys still showing the offer. How accurate is mysupermarket?
