IPA and job change with less income.

Hey gang,

My wife and I have been through BR and are awaiting IPA paperwork to come from our case examiner.

The situation is this; whilst struggling pre BR, we both changed our shift patterns from dayshift to nightshift for obviously the extra pay.

Nightshift, whilst it's nice to have the extra money, although all of our extra income went on trying to keep our heads above water, is/was a killer in as far as we where permanently knackered, bickering and generally very unhappy.

We have decided this cannot go on any longer and we have both put in request to change back to dayshift and regain some sort of normality.

Now, going back to day shift will obviously result in a drop of wages. The OR has all of our employment and wage details based on both of us doing nightshift.

I guess the question I'm alluding to is this - Do you think by changing our shift patterns for personal reasons could be construed as an attempt to avoid paying an IPA by our OR/case examiner?

The wages we would earn on dayshift would not provide any surplus to contribute to a monthly IPA for either of us.

Many thanks.
Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy crap we dont need!
