    Hi everyone,

Monday blues are still lingering in the Perni household :( Decided not to go on our date night last night as I was so emotional by the time I got home I didn't even want to go...let's hope this evening is a bit better & we plan to go next week instead.

    Thanks for starting us Josie.
Carrie - That's not quite as bad as I thought then! Hope you manage to find a way to finance it maybe for both of you? Is there anything you could sell?

    Here's me today:-
    • All food from stores - Brekkie was HM porridge pot, leftovers for lunch
    • Dinner from meal plan - Veggie omelettes
    • Making use of free water at work
    • Staying in for most of my lunch break to avoid spending, just about to pop to Mr T's though, will stick to list!
    • Log calories & exercise on free apps
    • Check postcode lottery & birthday bingo
    • Charged phone at work
    • Heating off
    • Check online banking
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Do some surveys
    • Declutter & flylady
    • Find that last receipt to return another item
    • Caught up on yesterday's thread
Hope everyone is ok & has a great, MSE day x

Canceled the bt vision service today as we have never had the box switched on since we moving (ex had it with sports on and i didn't realise that canceling the sport when he left triggered a new 12 month contract and then house move renewed the contract, so took it down to essentials of £5 per month until I could cancel/afford termination fee). May not seem a lot but it's done now.
Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt.

    Hi everyone :hello:

Hang in there Pern! See what nice plans you can come up with for next week.

Extra wee break sounds good DNMS - You'll survive until June with your money-saving ways I'm sure :)

I found out I'm getting my bonus next week :T Just need to decide how to use it:
    1. Flights to visit friends abroad for cheapo summer hols
    2. Sort decking for the garden
    3. Pay off cc and have no decking and no hols :(

Just finished work on a spreadsheet to track our weekly supermarket spend. Broken down into how much we spend on meals (as in the main bit of the meal), fruit and veg, dessert/sweets, general groceries, cosmetics and general household. This it to be itemised exactly each time after a supermarket shop. My target is not to spend more than £80 a week, so I've built in formulae and conditional formatting to highlight weeks when above or below that.

Once I've got enough data (probably 6 weeks will be a decent sample size) then I'll start to work out a weekly target for each of the above categories. Things may be a little skewed at the moment as there is already stuff in the fridge, freezer and cupboards.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hello All

A good day in the Bobarella household. We were reunited with a vital book that is for a class the little man takes, they had said we'd have to pay £10 to replace it. Was horrified, Im normally very organised. Anyway turns out we'd actually left it behind and it had been handed in by a member of staff phew!

Low spend day again. £1.50 for parking. Also tried another brand drop from our beloved Marmite at £2.69 for 250g to Morrisons yeast extract at £1.69. Have just tried it on a bit of old baguette as a snack and I have to say apart from it being more of a spread, less of a drizzle on, the taste experience is no different. I will be interested to see if OH minds it as hes a big marmite fan too. Its the little things that help push your weekly shop spend down isnt it.

Put a bit of cash across into my account from the business. Much needed.

Its frustrating that after such a strong start on repayment we have plateaued entirely over the past 2 months. But at least we haven't gone backwards. Its an interesting point that I've now heard a couple of times from other self employed folk, but during the good times you have to be extra constrained, save harder, because you can. That in turn helps you when the road gets rocky. So far, havent really had chance to make good on that, but I will. Its a very different world to the last 12 years of corporate living, with a salary paid on the same day, guaranteed each month, benefits, holiday etc. I dont miss that world but I do miss the stability, especially at 3am when Im up and stressing about bills, bills, bills!

Well, good night all, and hoping everyone has another good MS day tommorow.

    Bob
