I wonder how big a part sites like this that allow people to enter without purchasing have played in it? There must be thousands of entries from the different comp sites.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Not sure that would make a huge difference. I wouldn't pay to buy the mag just to enter the competitions.2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -
I didn't know that More magazine had gone (I don't buy Womens' mags anyway).
I usually enter the Full House Comps so it's a real shame.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -
More was Bauer and they are a big group, so the magazine must have seen a big fall in sales.
Full House is a publisher I haven't heard of- so it may be small and struggling against the big groups, but if you look at this link you'll see a couple of other recognisable publications...

More was Bauer and they are a big group, so the magazine must have seen a big fall in sales.
Their sales nose dived over 33% in Jan - June last year (year on year)
Full House circulation figures have dropped from 235,787 at its launch, to just over 172,000 in the second half of 2011 then down to just over 138,000 last year.
Most magazines circulation figures fell which is one of the reasons that many of them have been trying to get digital figures added to the print ones.0 -
I have bought this magazine since it first came out.Hope none of the other weeklies close down,as i enjoy reading them.0

I really liked this magazine, the little stories, had a lovely win a few years back.
Ah well everything changes - just look at Traffic lights.;)0 -
Easy Living has gone too. If teen mags close and teens stop buying mags eventually as they get older mags may greatly reduce and it all just go online.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0 -
I didn't know Easy Living had gone as well, I suppose their daily comp that's running now will be the last one then.
I think Sue has a point about us comps site playing a part as well, I used to buy 6 mags a week for the puzzles, then I discovered MSE and at the time Fire**fly & Tjay were kindly sharing the answers so I stopped buying them to save a few quid.
I was thinking if all the mags eventually went digital, I wonder if they would still have puzzles in them? I bet it would be a nightmare trying to do a crossword on the iPad.0 -
That's a shame re Full House although like others I too have never bought the actual magazine.
In fact I don't buy any magazines as I find most of them crammed with the same Z-lists week after week and quite honestly I really cannot fathom how people are remotely interested in reading about the likes of Katie Price, Kerry Katona, Kim Kardshian etc etc etc. well maybe that is just me
The mags that don't feature celebs have the most ridiculous stories (as featured in another thread here) and are a bit like Jeremy Kyle in print.
Also noticed on Woman's Own mag when they comment on FB re this weeks new stories... Denise Welch, Carol McGiffin etc, every week there are numerous comments about how people are so fed up of reading about Loose Women week in week out.
I really hope the "celebrity" obsession bubble is going to burst very soon. The best things in life are free.....0
