Hi there,
Im looking (on behalf of my dad) for templates/sample letters to send to credit card companies to ask for help with managing his payments. A recent relationship break up has left him off work sick and struggling to pay several credit cards. I dont know the details till i get to see him this weekend but I know this is a great place to come for advice.
He needs some breathing space to sort himself out, he will be facing a huge upheavel over the next few weeks as his wife moves out and leaves him with the mortgage. She convieniently paid off her debts when they re-mortgaged so the only debt is my dads, in just his name.
Grateful for any advice - I will be pointing him to the debt advice charities via this website too!
Thank you

Hello Sazaboo
As he is going through an emotional time at the moment, I would suggest he gets in touch with one of the free debt charities listed who will be able to offer advice regarding his situation, especially now he is facing the debts on his own. You have mentioned a mortgage so there would be additional questions about that aspect.
National debtline also have a lot of information on their website along with sample letters if needed.
If you can get your dad interested in the site he may find it helpful as a number of us have been there and there is help and support with whatever questions there may be.
Good luck and it's great that you are there for your dad.
