Sounds like "Alias" is a good cover up for someone trying to make a quick buck out of people with debt problems????
Hmmmm
Please go elsewhere!0 -
An IVA can be the only alternative for some people who wish to protect their home or employment (thus needing to avoid bankruptcy) especially when it is going to take them over 7-8 years to get their debts cleared through a free debt management plan.
As long as the terms and conditions are adhered to then there is no reason why an IVA would need to result in Bankruptcy??
Your facts are incorrect and charging someone £15 for advice is absolutely pointless when there are plenty of genuine people out there who are willing to help............as for buying your books aswell????? The cheek!0 -
I can't help thinking that 'naughtynige' (the person who originally posted this thread asking for advice) should by now have at least said a brief 'thank you' to all the people who have taken the time to post a reply in an effort to help.
A bit of common courtesy goes a long way!

ive been reading this thread. and one poster is trying to tell another of how and what helped them get out of debt.. and some of you having a go because you have to pay a small fee.. im not in debt and i have no use for these services but in other threads i have given my opinion on what i know and have used.. unless you lot have actually used this service and dont like it dont shoot the messenger.. they obviously think its a great site to look at.. let the original poster make up there own mind ..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

I think the general cause for concern is the fact that the OP is already seriously in debt and the information being sold is actually available freely available.0

I am suprised that the CAB say that the debt is too big to help. I'd go to a different CAB office, certainly they can guide through the process of bankruptcy and help with the forms and advise whether an IVA may be better
As for IVA's the payplan people use shaw's and although there are charges they take them out along the way rather than an up front fee.
If you own your own home you will lose it in bankrupcty. however if you have enough equity and you face losing your home anyway why not sell it and then negotate full and final settlements to your company - something else that CAB could help you with0 -

yes i am aware of that,, but the way i saw it the original op came on asking for advice and got it .. we all have opinions and we all share them but we dont need to be slapped down because of them... ive seen it in other threads were the opionion doesnt go with the most and therefore slapped down.. if we keep doing this to people they will stop sharing there experiences and and people looking for help and advice wont get it ..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
