    hiya Alison

    AQA is this

If you can get taken on as a researcher (I've been with them for nearly 10 months now) you earn 30p per question answered.

I applied yesterday and received my application pack with the questions to do.

Have to send it in within 48 hours of receiving it.

i have not actually downloaded the questions received yet. does it automatically time you or do you provide the time it takes to complete the questions yourself???

    thanks

No, it doesn't automatically time you, you time yourself, but you probably won't need anywhere near the amount of time it gives you.

It takes a few days. I contacted them after about 10 days because I hadn't heard and they had emailed me to say I was successful but the email hadn't reached me - glad I did!!

    thanks for the reply.

i would really love to be accepted. not just for the extra money, but because i really enjoyed doing the test yesterday and learning new things.

just worried because they said an average response time was 2.5 minutes but i took longer than that.

also becuase my education was in Australia.

Don't worry, if you are accepted you get 15 minutes per question and you speed up over time.

Your education shouldn't be an issue. AQA has researchers in Australia for when we are asleep in the UK.

I took longer than 2 1/2 minutes too, partly because my computer was painfully slow and partly because it took a little effort to write them in the style requested. I'm sure that with my speedy new computer and with a little practise on the questions front, my response time will improve!

Can I ask another question to those who already work for AQA? Are there any sorts of questions that you avoid answering, or do you answer anything? Does this pose a problem for you?

sorry to be asking so many questions and getting ahead of myself, but i currently work full time and would continue to do so.

i know i have to register as self employed which i am of course happy to do, did you find it a difficult process to go through though?
