Apart from that, it will be fund raising.
We already have our office setup now and ready for people to come, phone line, website etc.
How will you fund the training budget?0 -
Jobs and benefits pays that - The person volunteers with the group, they get experience and they get an extra £15 or £30 / month.
I was hoping to get more details through here, I am already volunteering myself for a while now but wasn't on this.0 -
Sorry, not a month, per payment.0

So where are the jobs in this then? Who is giving the person a job after this?

Does that mean you don't actually have a training budget?0 -

^^ What paddedjohn said.
I don't get this?
edit: Oh, do you mean per benefits payment?0 -
I found this guidance for NI
http://www.nidirect.gov.uk/volunteering-and-social-security-benefits.pdf
it doesn't mention additional benefit getting paid unfortunately
This one describes all the different types of back to work programmes that are available.
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/back-to-work-support.pdf
Once again no additional payments.
I suggest you consider very carefully becoming involved with any scheme where there is a mandatory element before or after the unemployed person joins. This may not fit with the ethics of the charity you support.0 -
I think I know what you mean by the £15 per benefits payments, once upon a time when New Deal was around young people would get an additional £15 on top of their benefits if they did work experience. I am not aware that the new / revised benefits are quite so "generous"0

Just so everyone knows, I actually don't agree with this, but there is definitely a scheme in the jobs and benefits that gives the person an extra £15 per payment, I checked that part out with them and I also know someone that is getting it.
In all honesty, I don't think any business should be allowed to have someone working either part-time or full-time and getting benefits + £15 - I think that is a job that someone should be doing and being paid properly, if the position is there, the business shouldn't get cheap labour...
Unfortunately I can't find the pages I got printed off, it was a recent document from a government site though and it also covers volunteer / charity organisations - I'm 100%.0
