csa and carers allowance - confused :(

Hi, my ex partner currently pays flat rate of £5 a week for our 2 children as he claims carers allowance for his dad.
He has boasted on facebook that he has a job interview on Thursday and said that it was for between 16-30 hours a week. When on 16 hours at current nmw it is just under the £100 but in October when new nmw comes it he will be earning just over.
If he was to work and get this job earning over the £100 a week threshold would the claim automatically stop in the eyes of the csa and he have to pay more or would it still class as him claiming but not receiving a payment for that week so would still be on the flat rate of £5 a week.

They will only reassess if they are asked to - it won't happen automatically. Also, they will gather wage slips and take an average - the amount doesn't change week by week.
16 hours x £6.31 = £100.96 weekly, will still produce a weekly calculation of £5. Only if he averages more than 16 hours a week will that change.
You don't say if he has any children living with him in his household (step-children count the same a biological children) or of he has overnight care of your two children, and these factors also impact the amount payable.
Also, if he earns less than £100 a week on average and meets the other eligibility criteria, he may work part-time and continue to claim carer's allowance.
If you find out he did get/take the job, you can contact the CSA and request a review.I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.0
