Sick pay insurance

My current employer does not offer any sick pay other than SSP. If I am off I therefore don't get paid my current daily rate. Does anyone know if any companies offer sick pay insurance. For example, if I have 3 days off ill in June, I can claim against my policy for those days to ensure my monthly income is protected?
Many thanks

Most policies that offer cover of income whilst off ill are PHI policy. However it's 30days off normally before it kicks in.
The other option is to look for PPI type policies for covering debt repayments etc but again thats usually 30 days.
I think the best solution is to save up and have sufficient savings to cover short term absences.0 -
Must things are insurable... at a cost.
But as claret_mike suggests, for an odd day here and there you would probably find it cheaper to 'self-insure' in a biscuit tin under the bed.0
