As the title states- Wish me luck.
Those of you who have read my previous posts will remember that my husband is less financial aware and bothered than I am.
We have come back from Citifinance and everything is going through. The good news is that the cheques will be sent out tomorrow and these will be written directly to Barclaycard and Monument so my husband has no chance of cashing them and using the money for other things (Namely the garden!!!)
I am going downstairs with my debt plan and soa, creditcards, scissors, letters to cancel the cards and a nice cup of tea.
I am also taking a blank bit of paper and pencil so that we can sort out a cheaper alternative to the garden (Checked the inital quote and nearly £4300???!!!!????
Thats ridiculas.
May compromise and buy him a shed for his birthday in August hehe...:rotfl:

All the luck in the world !Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0

Have spoken with husband, we have decided to cut back on garden and he says that he will only take any extra earnings over £1400 a month to put towards it, which is great cause I only budget that he takes home £1300 so that gives me an extra £100 on top of the 179 spare we have plus any extra i earn. He has also said that he will only do this until baby arrives and will only start it up again if we can afford it after i go back to work after 3 months.
We have also chosen a name. Ava Eloise.
He also cut up my 2 creditcards and I cut up his 2.we worked through the budget, made a shopping list ready for Friday (payday) and agreed that after this shop we will buy off the tesco website so that we won't be subjected to offers whilst in store, that way we will only buy what we need.
He has signed all the letters to close the accounts so we cannot reuse the cards and we had a lovely cup of tea and a chat.
Glad things are working out!!!!0 -

It IS a beautiful name, I would have put Ava on my baby name list if I'd thought of it
You sound like you're making good progress and have got hubby onside now too - well done!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I'm due 9th July although the way it feels I think it'll be sooner rather than later. My first daughter Caitlin Aimee is 5 now, she was 5 days late (and 5 days of slow labour)
Yep hubby on side, I think he has finally realised how much it was upsetting me. Good day all in all apart from I lost my mobile and some !!!!!! has been using it. Cancelled it of course and reported to the police but now need to add £25 to my budget this month as insurance excess. Good job it's 3 months free insurance otherwise I wouldn't have had it...0 -

Hi COngrats on your pregnanacy, and well done to you and hubby for getting to grips with your debts, glad you feel better for getting it all sorted.
Re; your shopping, before you order from Tesco, make sure you pop over to the discounts & codes board, there should be a different code for you to use each week. My latest one last wk was for £15 off my shopping.
Also if you havent already get a clubcard too. Then you can collect your points.
I currently have about £107 in vouchers which is worth about £428 in clubcard deals. Am thinking of using book a hotel for a weekend, just me and hubby for his 40th in September;)0 -
Thanks for that. Yeah i have a clubcard. Do the vouchers only apply on line or should I be able to find something for when I go instore this week?0
-
You should use your clubcard at the checkout whther you are in the store or online. (Also at Petrol Stations)
Do you usually shop at tescos?
If so you should get a statement through the post? You get 4 statements a year.0
