Credit File Clear Up

Hopefully someone has some experience of this. I have 4 CCJ's on my credit file that have a status of "judgement" and one "satisfied". All have a zero balance (with a lot of help from this forum) and i want the status to be amended. Does anyone know what the court accepts as proof that it is paid off? I have letter that i am planning on sending, but only one specifies the case number. Also, i don't really want to have to pay £15 each for the certificate, but presumably they would still update the credit agencies without this payment? Any experiences please?

    When were they paid off?

Your credit reports won't be updated immediately. In my experience, Experian updates almost immediately, Equifax can take weeks and Callcredit/Noddle only seems to update once a month.

  • Noddle can be up to 2 months late, I closed a bank account early March and it only updated it right this month but if its settled and someone performs a search they will see its settled.

We get a regular data feed from the courts via Registry Trust, so any updates by the courts should feed through too the CRAs fairly quickly. You don't need to pay £15 to update each judgment. A certificate is optional and just for your records. You simply need to provide proof to the court that a judgment has been cleared. Ideally it should quote the case number but in my experience courts tend to apply a common sense approach to this.

Thanks for that all. They were paid off about a year ago. I'll get the letters sent off to the court and see what happens.

    I appreciate the help everyone.
