Is there some way to include a covering letter when you apply for jobs on Universal Jobmatch? I was just wondering if, after all this time, I've been missing this?

Try uploading a cover letter in the CV upload section (your allowed multiple) then simply delete it once youve sent it with your application..

    Works for me ;)

Why on earth would you want to do this?

What's so alien about it? Tons of people send cover letters and it looks a lot better than a CV alone.

OP - I asked my colleagues about this today as there's only the option to send one file from your CVs :/

You can send both a CV and a cover letter? That's strange, I'm only given one option.

When i have to apply via UJM. I have cover letter and cv (in one doc) saved and adapt it each time to make it specific to the job i'm applying for before sending. Can have several of these targeted to specific roles.
  • Interesting but I don't get the concept of doing a cover letter when most of the 'click to apply' jobs on UJM show the barest details for the employer anyhow? it is not like you have the recruiters name either in my experience, anyone else had this -checking on the job listing couple of days later and even the wording may have changed I've noticed - so many instances I've like re-gone in and found it then shows an email address (if your lucky, which I much prefer...) but it does makes me wonder if the employer has received any such application by that click to apply button...

Only this week I watched a couple of wrongly spelt job title ad's turn into a Trainee position and Senior position, neither what I thought I was originally applying to  most bizzare I even had one employer not realise their job advert complete with email address was on UJM!?
