i recieved a letter from capquest saying "we regret that you have not responded positively to our previous letters."
basically the letter tells me they are pursuing legal action through the courts.
this is for a purchase from shop direct financial services, for £707.
i vaguely remember the name so i rang them up and they told me it was for a littlewoods account. i remember that it already went to capquest and i paid it in 2 lump sums.
i told them this and they searched there records and told me the only thing they had in the archives was for an old vodafone account (paid).
they told me they have only had the account since feb but it is a debt from last march.
they asked me when i paid it but i couldnt remember when so i told them i would have to get back to them.
i rang littlewoods and they told me they sold it to the on the 24th march 2012. so i went through my internet banking and found 2 payments from credit solutions in may then in june.
im not sure if these are the payments i made to capquest or an old capital one card as i cant find any more.
how can i fight this as i am sure i already paid it.

You need to find evidence that you already paid it, and you don't seem that sure yourself. Try to find the evidence before you even think about contesting it.What will your verse be?

Credit solutions appears to be a separate debt collection company.
You could always send a subject access request to Capquest with a £10 cheque and see if you can find any evidence of payments. What will your verse be?

When I paid Credit Solutions a few months back it was for my Capital one account. Have you tried ringing CS up to find out which account you paid?Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt. :beer:0

Was the catalogue account taken out before April 2007?
Matters in case you find you didn't pay. As you can do a CCA request which they either won't have or is likely to be unenforceable.:beer:0
