Well I had a little bit of a dilemma:eek: :eek: :eek: I owed about £1600 om my O/D at 15.9% and £1970 on my sofa at 0% due by 21st June...:eek: :eek: Not having the money for the sofa I was going to put this balance on the O/D..which would've took ages to clear especially at 15.9% interest...
I had a brainwave and applied for an egg card as you can clear O/Ds off with it ...and am ecstatic as I've been passed for £6500 at 0% until May next year...:j :j :j :j so I will pay the sofa with the O/D and then ship it all to egg...
What a relief:D
I'm so excited...how sad is that!!!!

Wow taxi, that's brilliant news, well done you.

Now I'm wondering if I should do the same.... can I be nosy and ask how many cards you 've got - as I've got 3 credit cards and a large loan so I was assuming I wouldn't be able to get any more... do you think it's worth a try?

Hi Sea....I'd say it's definitely worth a try...
I have 2 loans...total £19000...I have loads of credit and store cards with nil balances on them...I have just shut MBNA...£5000 available and one Halifax £4800 available...but don't even think that will show on my credit file yet anyway...I only have the balance on my Barclays(brand new) and what's outstanding on my halifax ...
I've never missed a payment or had a bank charge or any CCJs or ever made a late payment...
I don't know exactly what they look for...I hope this helps...it lets you know straight away if you've got it..it didn't give me my credit limit but I rang to ask about transterring my O/D and whether it counted as a cash transaction or B/t...they said BT and gave me the limit on the phone!!
I hope this helps you make your mind up..good luck..let me know how you get on..

Hi LA...it's true ..this site really does open your eyes!!!...(you had no thanks button then)...
I will update my sig as I sort moving the money around...
I can't believe what I've learnt on here...(still not spreadsheets)...I tend to think outside of the box now and I analyse everything including all small print...everyone is so encouraging and friendly on here and there's always an answer besides consolidation!!.....
I thank everyone on here that's helped me and what a force to be reckoned with we MSE'rs are!!!

Great, I'm going to give it a try, I'll let you know the result. I'm like you - lots of credit but never missed a payment. I did get turned down for the last card I applied for, but that was some months ago. Here goes....

Thanks Sea78....relieved yes...ecstatic yes...don't know why I didn't think of it before...it'll leave the bank account clear every month as well...so I can get a better picture...it's hard being SE as you don't have a set figure to work from...so I can't say...i'll pay this off this and that off that...as the figures are so different day to day...so my plan is to split the bills into 12 monthly payments and try to pay that off..or save it in the bank as I get 6odd % on my current account...loads to think about ..my head hurts!!
