Morning all,
in 2008 i did a full and final settlement on 2 lloyds tsb credit cards. I paid the amount they asked for and thought everything was settled.
In Jan this year lloyds changed the status of my credit file to say i still owed them 3,600 and hadnt made any payments on the account for a long time.
i have it in writing from lloyds that the debt was settled and the account was closed.
does anyone have any ideas if i can do anything to get this sorted on my credit file?

Complain to Lloyds that the information recorded on your file is inaccurate.
It should state settled as per the date you settled on, and show that there is no outstanding balance.
Tell them that you will be taking the matter to the FOS and ICO unless they correct the information.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Make it clear in your letter that you wish for them to open a complaint.
Wouldn't hurt to tweet them a link to this thread too - banks tend not to like negative publicity and will often bend over backwards to help
