The last 2k to go and it seems the hardest part!

So I have the last 2k to pay end of this month, well £1970 to be precise. End of August will be my debt free day (hopefully). But it seems so far away still. Having to go without, watch every penny for that extra 3 and half months seems a long journey still to go. I am getting 'wants' for so many things calling me to buy them. And even just sticking to my strict budget for every day living is getting tiresome. I am saying 'no' to all until I have the money end of August. But Im starting to feel like Ive burtn myself out. And worried ill end up tipping over and giving up
I have nothing left to sell on ebay to boost my income and exhausted all other means. So now its the final countdown, sticking to my strict money plan.
I don't want to fall at the last hurdle. But its so tough! As now its smaller its easier to think ahr not too much debt ill keep it on the credit card for another year interest free.
Kinda look for others storys, ideas, and support

You seem to have come so far, so don't go back on it
you could get a few things now and end up in more debt or wait until you have reached your goal and you will be able to buy what you want without debt hanging over you again.

you are doing soooo well, just keep going this little bit and have a nice treat for the summer when its all paid off in august!!!
congrats on getting this far though.yes i have 6 kids by two different fathers, but Im the parent that is there for them ALWAYS!! :A0 -
I'm even closer @ just £723 to go (Debt Free Month will be the same though), and it seems just as hard.
Each pay day seems to take forever, getting here.0 -
i find that although my dfd is much much further away than yours is, that I have everything on my spreadsheet and I keep looking at it for inspiration. It may sound silly but I budget X amount for food shopping and if I don't spend as much I will make a cup of tea and update my spreadsheet accordingly and see it (eventually) add up.Been there, done that and Ebay'd the t shirt. :beer:0

I do the same thing, if I save like £1.24 it goes onto the CC and the oustanding balance gets reduced on my Excel document, its the little things like that which keep me going
Vikki, it seems hard but I bet it isn't as bad as your LBM and to think you will never feel like that again come August should drive you on. Come on here and post if you feel frustrated like now. We will all help :j"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

I have just typed the same thing in my diary. So close to being free, yet feels so far. I have sorted most of my debts now, and I have 2 that I am paying back interest free over a long time, (only 10 a week and 50 a month respectively) but as soon as all the other accounts are clear then I will either make over payments, or save and earn a little interest then pay them off next year, all undecided, I might just want to hack away at them and be free sooner.TOTAL AT START £13606.90 27/03/2018
TOTAL CURRENT £13445.90 29/03/20180 -
I've only just cleared my final credit card last month, I still have a loan but not much I can do with that at the minute.
I remember so well how hard those last few months were!
I think it was because when I first had my LBM I sold anything that wasn't nailed down on eBay, I did bootfairs every weekend and filled in all my PPI reclaiming forms so I was updating my total pretty much every week/fortnight.
then the last few months I had nothing left to sell I couldn't claim anymore PPI and basically exhausted all avenues and it became a payday countdown. Who knew a month could take soo long to co e round!
It's soo hard but you are at the final hurdle, keep with it - you've done so well:TSave £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28
